Plumber in Stockbridge, GA

We provide reliable plumbing services in Stockbridge, GA, helping homeowners fix leaks, clogs, and repairs quickly and efficiently.

Stockbridge is a city of nearly 29,000 residents in Henry County, about 20 miles southeast of downtown Atlanta. I-75 and I-675 run through the western side of town, and North Henry Boulevard (US-23) serves as the city’s commercial spine. That highway access puts our office about 30 minutes north via I-75 to I-285.

The housing stock is what matters for plumbing. Homes in the 30281 ZIP code were built primarily in the 1980s and 1990s, the decades when Henry County saw explosive suburban growth. Subdivisions spread along Jodeco Road, Eagles Landing Parkway, Old Conyers Road, and Flippen Road during that boom. The majority of homes are 30 to 45 years old, right at the age when plumbing systems begin to fail.

Plumbing Express has served Metro Atlanta since 2007 with over 35 years of combined experience. Our 4.9-star rating backed by 1,999+ reviews tells you what your Henry County neighbors already know: we do the job right and stand behind every repair.

Plumbing Problems Common in Stockbridge Homes

Stockbridge’s 30281 ZIP code covers parts of Henry County, Rockdale County, and a small section of Clayton County. Most homes here were built during a narrow window of construction, and they share a common set of plumbing risks. Here is what our plumbers find most often.

Polybutylene pipe failures

This is the most common issue we see in Stockbridge. The city’s housing boom in the 1980s and early 1990s coincided with the peak years of polybutylene pipe installation. Subdivisions across the Eagles Landing area, along Jodeco Road, and off North Henry Boulevard were plumbed with this gray plastic pipe. Polybutylene reacts with chlorine in the public water supply and degrades from the inside. Pinhole leaks, cracked fittings, and burst pipes are the result. The Henry County Water Authority (HCWA) treats water with chlorine, which accelerates polybutylene breakdown over time. A full home repipe is the only permanent fix. We specialize in polybutylene replacement and finish most homes in two to three days.

Galvanized steel pipe corrosion

Older homes near original downtown Stockbridge and in pre-1980s neighborhoods were plumbed with galvanized steel water lines. After 40 to 60 years, internal corrosion narrows the pipe, drops water pressure, and produces rusty brown water. The HCWA confirms that galvanized piping can cause discolored water due to rust forming inside the pipe. Iron and manganese in Henry County’s water make the problem worse. A full repipe with PEX-A piping restores clean water and strong pressure.

Slab leaks

Ranch-style homes on concrete slab foundations are common across Stockbridge, especially in the 1990s subdivisions. Water lines beneath the slab develop leaks from soil shifting, pipe corrosion, or friction against the concrete. Henry County’s red clay soil expands and contracts with moisture changes, adding stress to buried pipes. Warning signs include warm spots on floors, running water sounds with fixtures off, and a sudden jump in your water bill. Our slab leak detection service pinpoints the exact location without tearing up your floors.

Tree root intrusion

Stockbridge’s established subdivisions feature mature pines and hardwoods whose root systems seek moisture in sewer lines. Roots enter through hairline cracks or loosened joints, then grow until they block the pipe. We clear roots with hydrojetting and use a camera to verify the line is clear. When the pipe is damaged beyond repair, we handle sewer drain replacement.

Copper pinhole leaks

Homes built in the late 1990s and 2000s across south Stockbridge and newer Eagles Landing developments were plumbed with copper water lines. Copper lasts longer than polybutylene, but aggressive water chemistry and high pressure cause pinhole leaks along copper runs. These leaks appear behind walls or in ceilings, often causing damage before you notice them. We handle leak detection and copper repipe services to fix the problem at its source.

Water heater failures

Tank water heaters in Henry County homes typically last 8 to 12 years. Iron and manganese in the local water supply accelerate sediment buildup inside the tank, reducing heating efficiency and shortening the unit’s lifespan. When your tank starts leaking or producing lukewarm water, we install both tank water heaters and tankless systems sized for your household.

Plumbing Services We Provide in Stockbridge

One call covers every plumbing need in your home.

Repairs and Installations

A slow kitchen drain or a toilet that backs up after rain points to a deeper blockage. Our drain cleaning team goes beyond basic snaking. We use hydrojetting to scour pipe walls and a camera to confirm the line is clear. For damaged lines, we handle full sewer drain replacement. Emergency drain service runs 24/7. Note: some Stockbridge homes sit on private septic systems rather than HCWA sewer lines. We work with both setups.

Repiping is our specialty. We remove failing polybutylene, galvanized, or aging copper systems and replace them with PEX-A or CPVC. Our repipe process is turn-key: new pipes installed, drywall patched, and computer-matched paint applied. Most Stockbridge homes are finished in two to three days. Every repipe includes a 30-year warranty on materials. Request your free repipe quote to get started.

We install and repair both tank water heaters and tankless systems. Whether your tank is leaking or you want to upgrade to a tankless unit, our plumbers size the system to your household and complete the work the same day. We recommend annual water heater maintenance to extend the unit’s lifespan.

Gas line installation and gas line repair for stoves, dryers, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, and gas water heaters. All gas work meets Henry County code and passes inspection.

Ron was our second plumber from this company. The first plumber came, examined pipes and said he found no leak, even though we had experiences a large amount of water leaking from the ceiling in the finished basement. Several days later we had another leak-same area but less water the second time. Ron came in, listened to our frustration and did a more thorough inspection of the pipes and identified the problem. He was very personable and professional. On his third visit, we had several replacement pipes installed and are without leaks again. Our frustration, with the situation, was my son had used your company to replace pipes when he purchased the home and founding out not all the pipes were included with that process.

Called Plumbing Express as tankless hot water not operating. Their website states "Get Free Plumbing Quote ". When service man showed up an looked at unit he said there would be a $207 charge to look into unit in order to give me a quote to fix unit. Due to not having hot water and time required to get another company to address the problem I agreed to pay $207 for quote. After looking in unit I was told he would not be able to fix due to age of unit and parts not available. I think he should have said parts not available when seeing model number on front of unit and I would not have wasted $207.

Plumbing Express is my go-to plumbing support team. They have fair pricing, well-vetted technicians, and a truly exceptional scheduling system. Rod, my technician, was the best. He quickly assessed the problem and gave a fair estimate, working hard to keep to the schedule. He even brought Josh along on the day of service, and the two of them worked well together. They addressed the bathtub drain repair with expertise and caused the least sheetrock damage. It was difficult to replace the broken pipe and get to the upstairs drain, but together they made it a success.

Dylan from Plumbing Express came over and replaced our garbage disposal for us. It was older, had a massive leak, and needed to be replaced. He did a great job and was in and out in about 30 minutes! I also asked him to check out a potential leak I had been hearing in my ceiling. He used a thermal camera to investigate and was very honest and upfront about what he found. Rather than immediately cutting into the drywall to confirm something uncertain, he explained that the sound could simply be pipes expanding and that opening the wall might be unnecessary. He recommended monitoring the area and waiting to see if a wet spot appears, which would clearly indicate an actual leak. I really appreciated that he didn’t try to upsell or push unnecessary work. Overall, great service and a great guy. They will definitely be our go-to plumbing service from now on.

Tim has been to our house for a number of different plumbing problems. He is personable & professional. As frustrating as it was, Tim worked through it until he finished the job. We can't thank him enough.

Frequently Asked Questions about Stockbridge Plumbing Services

What are some common plumbing issues in the Stockbridge area?

Given the mix of housing styles and ages in Stockbridge, we see a wide range of plumbing issues. In some of the older homes, we often encounter problems with aging pipe materials and sewer line issues caused by tree roots. In newer homes, hard water can sometimes cause issues with fixtures and appliances. Across the board, clogged drains and water heater problems are very common.

What is the difference between a tank and tankless water heater?

A traditional tank water heater stores a large amount of hot water in a tank, keeping it heated and ready for use. A tankless water heater, on the other hand, heats water on demand as you need it. Tankless models are more energy-efficient because they are not constantly heating a tank of water, and they provide an endless supply of hot water. They also have a smaller footprint, which can be a benefit in homes with limited space.

What is hydrojetting and when is it needed?

Hydrojetting is a highly effective method of drain cleaning that uses a high-pressure stream of water to scour the inside of your pipes. It is much more powerful than a traditional drain snake and can remove years of built-up grease, scale, and even tree roots. Hydrojetting is often recommended for stubborn or recurring clogs and as a preventative maintenance measure to keep your pipes flowing freely.

What are the signs of a slab leak?

Signs of a slab leak can be subtle. You might notice a sudden increase in your water bill, the sound of running water when no faucets are on, warm spots on your floor, or unexplained moisture or mildew under your carpets. If you suspect you have a slab leak, it is crucial to call a professional plumber immediately to prevent further damage to your home’s foundation.

Why should I consider repiping my home?

Repiping your home is a major decision, but it can be a necessary one if your existing plumbing system is failing. Older homes with polybutylene or failing copper pipes are at high risk for leaks and water damage. Repiping your home with modern, durable materials like PEX can provide peace of mind, improve your water pressure, and increase the value of your home. It is a long-term solution to persistent plumbing problems.
