Plumber in Smyrna, GA
We provide reliable plumbing services in Smyrna, GA, helping homeowners fix leaks, clogs, and repairs quickly and efficiently.
Smyrna is one of Cobb County’s most densely populated cities, with more than 55,000 residents across roughly 15 square miles. The city sits at the intersection of I-285, I-75, and several major arterials, including Cobb Parkway, Atlanta Road, and South Cobb Drive. That central location puts our office just 15 miles east, a 20 to 25 minute drive on I-285.
The housing stock tells the real story. Homes in the 30080 and 30082 ZIP codes span every decade from the 1960s to the 2020s. Bennett Woods and Smyrna Heights are filled with brick ranches built in the 1960s. Townhomes and condos from the 1970s to 1990s line the northeastern corridors. Newer construction from the 2000s dominates the southern end near the Battery Atlanta. That range of building eras creates a wide spectrum of plumbing problems, and our team works with every one of them.
Plumbing Express has served Metro Atlanta since 2007 with over 35 years of combined experience. Our 4.9-star rating backed by 1,999+ reviews tells you what your Cobb County neighbors already know: we do the job right and stand behind every repair.

Plumbing Problems Common in Smyrna Homes
Smyrna’s housing covers ZIP codes 30080 and 30082. Each area has a different housing profile and a different set of plumbing risks. Here is what our plumbers find most often.
Smyrna experienced a massive building boom in the 1980s, when dozens of subdivisions and apartment complexes went up across the city. Many were plumbed with polybutylene water lines, a gray plastic pipe that reacts with chlorine and degrades from the inside. Pinhole leaks, cracked fittings, and burst pipes are the result. Smyrna’s water comes from the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority, and the chlorine used to treat that supply accelerates polybutylene breakdown. A full home repipe is the only permanent fix. We specialize in polybutylene replacement and finish most homes in two to three days.
The 1960s brick ranches in Smyrna Heights, Bennett Woods, and surrounding neighborhoods were plumbed with galvanized steel water lines. After 60-plus years, internal corrosion narrows the pipe diameter, drops water pressure to a trickle, and sends rusty brown water to the tap. The City of Smyrna’s own FAQ confirms that galvanized metal piping can cause tuberculation buildup and brown water. A full repipe with PEX-A piping restores clean water and strong pressure throughout the house.
Homes built in the 1990s and 2000s across south Smyrna and near Vinings were plumbed with copper water lines. Copper lasts longer than polybutylene, but aggressive water chemistry and high municipal pressure cause tiny pinhole leaks along copper runs. These leaks often appear behind walls or in ceilings, causing water damage before you notice them. We handle leak detection and copper repipe services to fix the problem at its source.
The 1960s and 1970s homes along South Cobb Drive and near King Springs Road were plumbed with cast iron sewer pipes. After 50 to 60 years, these pipes corrode, develop cracks, and attract root intrusion. Signs include slow drains, gurgling toilets, and sewage odors near cleanouts. We inspect these lines with a sewer camera and recommend repair or full sewer line replacement based on what we find.
Ranch-style homes on concrete slab foundations are common across Smyrna’s older neighborhoods. Water lines beneath the slab develop leaks from soil shifting, pipe corrosion, or friction against the concrete. Warning signs include warm spots on floors, the sound of running water with all fixtures off, and a sudden jump in your water bill. Our slab leak detection service pinpoints the exact location without tearing up your floors.
Smyrna’s mature neighborhoods feature large oaks and hardwoods whose root systems seek moisture in sewer lines. Roots enter through hairline cracks or loosened joints, then grow until they block the pipe. We clear roots with hydrojetting and use a camera to verify the line is clear. When the pipe is damaged beyond repair, we handle sewer drain replacement.
Plumbing Services We Provide in Smyrna
One call covers every plumbing need in your home.
Repairs and Installations
Our trucks carry common parts so most repairs finish in a single visit. We handle faucet repair, faucet installation, toilet repair, toilet installation, leak repair, leak detection, garbage disposal repair, garbage disposal installation, and water line repair.
A slow kitchen drain or a toilet that backs up after rain points to a deeper blockage. Our drain cleaning team goes beyond basic snaking. We use hydrojetting to scour pipe walls and a camera to confirm the line is clear. For damaged lines, we handle full sewer drain replacement. Emergency drain service runs 24/7. The City of Smyrna maintains the sewer mains in the street, but the pipes inside your home and from the meter to your house are your responsibility.
Repiping is our specialty. We remove failing polybutylene, galvanized, or aging copper systems and replace them with PEX-A or CPVC. Our repipe process is turn-key: new pipes installed, drywall patched, and computer-matched paint applied. Most Smyrna homes are finished in two to three days. Every repipe includes a 30-year warranty on materials. Request your free repipe quote to get started.
We install and repair both tank water heaters and tankless systems. Whether your tank is leaking or you want to upgrade to a tankless unit, our plumbers size the system to your household and complete the work the same day. We recommend annual water heater maintenance to extend the unit’s lifespan.
Gas line installation and gas line repair for stoves, dryers, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, pool heaters, and gas water heaters. All gas work meets Cobb County code and passes inspection.

Service couldn’t be completed due to needing a new system. We appreciate the very informative visit as well as insight that could help after a new unit install.
Plumbing Express was great. I had a failed sump pump that had partially overflowed into the basement. Nasty. Josh was the tech that did the work. He was efficient, neat and courteous. I will use Plumbing Express if I have any other plumbing needs and I will recommend them to my family and friends.
The technician was very knowledgeable and professional. I believe they did a very good job.
Ron was our second plumber from this company. The first plumber came, examined pipes and said he found no leak, even though we had experiences a large amount of water leaking from the ceiling in the finished basement. Several days later we had another leak-same area but less water the second time. Ron came in, listened to our frustration and did a more thorough inspection of the pipes and identified the problem. He was very personable and professional. On his third visit, we had several replacement pipes installed and are without leaks again. Our frustration, with the situation, was my son had used your company to replace pipes when he purchased the home and founding out not all the pipes were included with that process.
Tim arrived on time and was very professional. He took his time to explain the problem and the process it would take fix the water line.
Called Plumbing Express as tankless hot water not operating. Their website states "Get Free Plumbing Quote ". When service man showed up an looked at unit he said there would be a $207 charge to look into unit in order to give me a quote to fix unit. Due to not having hot water and time required to get another company to address the problem I agreed to pay $207 for quote. After looking in unit I was told he would not be able to fix due to age of unit and parts not available. I think he should have said parts not available when seeing model number on front of unit and I would not have wasted $207.
Outstanding customer service, we will definitely be using them in the future for any plumbing needs. Can’t thank them enough!
Extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. The team was excellent. The job was completed in 1 day with a great team. Very expressive.
Daniel Perez was great in coming out to check the problem I had with a water leak from my air conditioner line. His recommendation was correct.
Great and informative service while I was in a bind without a functioning water heater.
Plumbing Express is my go-to plumbing support team. They have fair pricing, well-vetted technicians, and a truly exceptional scheduling system. Rod, my technician, was the best. He quickly assessed the problem and gave a fair estimate, working hard to keep to the schedule. He even brought Josh along on the day of service, and the two of them worked well together. They addressed the bathtub drain repair with expertise and caused the least sheetrock damage. It was difficult to replace the broken pipe and get to the upstairs drain, but together they made it a success.
Daniel did a great job and was very professional during his service call last week!
Rod and Josh did an awesome job taking care of my clogged sinks. Knowledgable, professional and great to work with - I really appreciated their help today and would highly recommend them and Plumbing Express!
Daniel was excellent. The work he did was simply superb. I highly recommend your company and hopefully Daniel will get more and more work
Dylan from Plumbing Express came over and replaced our garbage disposal for us. It was older, had a massive leak, and needed to be replaced. He did a great job and was in and out in about 30 minutes! I also asked him to check out a potential leak I had been hearing in my ceiling. He used a thermal camera to investigate and was very honest and upfront about what he found. Rather than immediately cutting into the drywall to confirm something uncertain, he explained that the sound could simply be pipes expanding and that opening the wall might be unnecessary. He recommended monitoring the area and waiting to see if a wet spot appears, which would clearly indicate an actual leak. I really appreciated that he didn’t try to upsell or push unnecessary work. Overall, great service and a great guy. They will definitely be our go-to plumbing service from now on.
Once again we had some problems under our kitchen sink so we called Plumbing Express who were able to get us on their schedule pretty quickly after these storms Tim Robinson came out to do the job. Tim has been to our house for a number of different plumbing problems. He is personable & professional. As usual he did a great job even though this particular problem turned out to be far more difficult than anyone had expected. As frustrating as it was, Tim worked through it until he finished the job. We can't thank him enough.
Anthony was very competent, professional and friendly. He answered all my questions throughly. Highly recommend!
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What are the indicators that my home may need repiping?
Common signs that your home might need repiping include a noticeable drop in water pressure, water that appears discolored or has a rusty tint, recurring leaks, and visible corrosion on the pipes themselves. If your home is over 50 years old and still has its original plumbing, it is highly advisable to have it inspected by a professional plumber.
How frequently should I schedule professional drain cleaning?
As a proactive maintenance measure, we generally recommend having your drains professionally cleaned every one to two years. However, if you are experiencing frequent clogs, slow drains, or unpleasant odors from your drains, you may need to schedule cleanings more often.
What advantages do tankless water heaters offer?
Tankless water heaters, often called on demand water heaters, heat water only as you need it. This can lead to substantial energy savings compared to traditional tank style heaters that continuously heat a stored volume of water. Additionally, tankless models typically have a longer operational lifespan and a more compact, space saving design.
How do I determine if my water heater needs to be repaired or replaced?
If your water heater is relatively new (less than 10 years old) and is having minor, infrequent issues, a repair is often the most economical choice. However, if your unit is older, requires constant repairs, is showing signs of rust, or is actively leaking, a replacement is usually the more prudent and long term solution. Our technicians can perform a thorough inspection and help you make an informed decision.
Are your Smyrna plumbers fully licensed and insured?
Yes, absolutely. Every one of our Smyrna plumbers is fully licensed, insured, and has undergone extensive training. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and quality in every job we undertake, giving you complete peace of mind.
