Metro Atlanta Whole-Home Repipe Specialists

Most plumbers stop at the pipes. Plumbing Express sees it through to the paint, so when we leave, it looks like we were never there.

Home Repipe Explained

What Is a Home Repipe?

A whole-home repipe is a long-term solution for failing water pipes and recurring leaks. Rather than continuing to repair one leak at a time, we replace your home’s entire active water-supply system with new, reliable piping.

Our standard turn-key repipe begins at the interior main shutoff valve and includes new hot- and cold-water lines to every plumbing fixture. We also install new shutoff valves at each fixture, new water-heater isolation valves, a new pressure-regulating valve and thermal expansion tank, and new outdoor hose bibs with dedicated isolation valves.

After the new system is installed, we pressure-test and inspect it before repairing the sheetrock access openings, matching the existing wall or ceiling texture, and paint-matching the repaired areas. Plumbing Express handles it  from the first pipe to the final paint.

What Sets Our Repipes Apart

One Team. One Quote. One Point of Accountability. You’re not managing a plumber and a drywall sub and a painter. One crew handles the full job, from first pipe to final paint.

Fixed Price, No Surprises. Your quote covers everything included in the scope. We don’t add lines after the fact for drywall, texture, or paint because those are already part of the job.

Your Water Is On Each Evening. A repipe doesn’t mean a week without running water. Our crews work in phases so your home is fully functional every night during the project.

“Plumbing Express backs their re-pipe material and workmanship for twenty-holy-crap-years. That’s also transferable to the next property owner… when the job is finished, you’re sleeping easy every night.”

We Don't Stop at the Pipes

“Turn-key” is used loosely in the trades. At Plumbing Express, it means one specific thing: we don’t hand you a phone book when the pipes are done.

A Plumbing Express whole-home repipe includes the plumbing work, the drywall repair, the ceiling texture restoration, and the paint blending. All from one team, under one fixed-price quote, with one point of accountability. You don’t coordinate contractors. You don’t chase painters. You don’t live with open walls while you wait for a drywall crew’s availability.

When we leave, your home looks like we were never there. That’s not a marketing line. It’s what our customers consistently describe when the job is done.

“The fact that they handle the entire job, plumbing, drywall repair and painting, means you are only dealing with one contractor.”

What a Plumbing Express Repipe Includes

  • Complete replacement of all supply lines (hot and cold)
  • PEX-A & Pex-B, FlowGuard Gold CPVC, or copper piping, your choice, priced accordingly
  • All new angle stops and shut-off valves
  • Drywall repair at every access point
  • Ceiling texture restoration (orange peel, knockdown, smooth, matched to your existing finish)
  • Paint blending at all patched areas
  • Water pressure test and system inspection before job close
  • Up to 30-year manufacturer warranty on materials
  • Water restored to your home each evening

Which Replacement Pipe Is Right for Your Home?

We install three materials, all proven for Metro Atlanta homes:

PEX-A & Pex-B

Flexible, freeze-resistant, and highly durable. PEX-A is the most popular choice for whole-home repiping in Metro Atlanta. It carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty.

FlowGuard Gold CPVC

A rigid, code-approved alternative that performs reliably in Metro Atlanta’s climate. FlowGuard Gold CPVC is a strong choice for homeowners who prefer a more traditional installation style. Carries a 30-year manufacturer warranty.

Copper

The standard in pipe material for decades, and still a strong choice for homeowners who want it. Copper is durable, well-understood by every inspector and appraiser, and performs reliably when installed in a home with compatible water chemistry.

Your Home a Repipe Candidate?

A whole-home repipe isn’t something most people plan years in advance. There’s usually a trigger. For the Metro Atlanta homeowners we work with, it’s almost always one of these five situations.

You Have Polybutylene Pipe

Gray plastic pipe installed in Metro Atlanta homes from roughly 1978 to 1995. Stamped PB2110 or “Qest.” If your home was built or significantly plumbed during that window, there’s a reasonable chance it’s still in your walls.

If your home has polybutylene pipe, the question isn’t whether it will eventually fail. It’s whether you want to address it on your terms, with a planned project, or on its terms, with an emergency call and water running down a ceiling. Polybutylene doesn’t fail on a schedule. It fails without warning, inside walls, in places you can’t see until the damage is already done.

The homeowners who planned ahead describe the repipe as a relief. The ones who waited describe something else entirely.

Polybutylene pipe replacement

You Have Older PEX Pipe That's Failing

Not all PEX is the same. Certain PEX systems installed between roughly 2005 and 2020 have a documented failure history: pinhole leaks, cracking, and premature degradation in systems that should have decades of service life remaining.

If your home was built or repiped during that window and you’re seeing recurring pex pipe failure, the pipe type itself, not the installation, may be the problem. A repipe replaces the system entirely rather than chasing individual failures.

You Have Recurring Pinhole Leaks in Copper

One copper leak is a repair. Two is a pattern. By the third, you’re patching a system that’s failing systemically, not in isolated spots.

Repiping the home costs less, in total dollars and total disruption, than continuing to open walls one leak at a time.

Copper pipe replacement

You Have Recurring Slab Leaks

Multiple slab leaks in the same system mean the pipe running under your foundation is aging and failing. Each repair buys time until the next one.

Plumbing Express resolves recurring slab leak problems through whole-home rerouting. New supply lines run above the slab through walls and ceilings, bypassing the failing underground pipe entirely. You stop reacting to leaks because there’s no next leak to have.

Slab leak detection and repair

You Have a Real Estate Transaction

A repipe flag on an inspection report, especially polybutylene or failing PEX, can kill a deal, delay a closing, or force a price negotiation. Plumbing Express works directly with sellers, buyers’ agents, and realtors across Metro Atlanta to turn inspection flags into resolved line items. We also coordinate pay-at-closing arrangements for qualifying transactions.

How a Plumbing Express Whole-Home Repipe Works

Quote and Planning

We assess your home’s current pipe system, square footage, and layout. You receive a fixed-price quote that covers all labor and materials: pipe, drywall, texture, and paint. No estimates that change. No variable pricing.

Pipe Replacement

Our crew opens access points throughout the home and installs new supply lines. Cut-outs are numbered and staged for reassembly. Water pressure is restored to your home each evening.

“Each sheetrock cut-out was numbered and neatly stacked for the next day. All pipes were replaced and water was back on by dinnertime that first day.”

Pressure Test and Inspection

Before any wall is closed, we pressure-test the full system and conduct a thorough walkthrough. Nothing gets patched until the plumbing is confirmed complete and correct.

Restoration

Drywall is patched, ceiling textures are matched, and paint is blended at every access point. Our restoration crew works from the same job scope. There’s no handoff to a separate contractor.

“I look closely at the walls and CANNOT tell where any work was done.”

Plumbing Express was great. I had a failed sump pump that had partially overflowed into the basement. Nasty. Josh was the tech that did the work. He was efficient, neat and courteous. I will use Plumbing Express if I have any other plumbing needs and I will recommend them to my family and friends.

Ron was our second plumber from this company. The first plumber came, examined pipes and said he found no leak, even though we had experiences a large amount of water leaking from the ceiling in the finished basement. Several days later we had another leak-same area but less water the second time. Ron came in, listened to our frustration and did a more thorough inspection of the pipes and identified the problem. He was very personable and professional. On his third visit, we had several replacement pipes installed and are without leaks again. Our frustration, with the situation, was my son had used your company to replace pipes when he purchased the home and founding out not all the pipes were included with that process.

Called Plumbing Express as tankless hot water not operating. Their website states "Get Free Plumbing Quote ". When service man showed up an looked at unit he said there would be a $207 charge to look into unit in order to give me a quote to fix unit. Due to not having hot water and time required to get another company to address the problem I agreed to pay $207 for quote. After looking in unit I was told he would not be able to fix due to age of unit and parts not available. I think he should have said parts not available when seeing model number on front of unit and I would not have wasted $207.

Plumbing Express is my go-to plumbing support team. They have fair pricing, well-vetted technicians, and a truly exceptional scheduling system. Rod, my technician, was the best. He quickly assessed the problem and gave a fair estimate, working hard to keep to the schedule. He even brought Josh along on the day of service, and the two of them worked well together. They addressed the bathtub drain repair with expertise and caused the least sheetrock damage. It was difficult to replace the broken pipe and get to the upstairs drain, but together they made it a success.

Dylan from Plumbing Express came over and replaced our garbage disposal for us. It was older, had a massive leak, and needed to be replaced. He did a great job and was in and out in about 30 minutes! I also asked him to check out a potential leak I had been hearing in my ceiling. He used a thermal camera to investigate and was very honest and upfront about what he found. Rather than immediately cutting into the drywall to confirm something uncertain, he explained that the sound could simply be pipes expanding and that opening the wall might be unnecessary. He recommended monitoring the area and waiting to see if a wet spot appears, which would clearly indicate an actual leak. I really appreciated that he didn’t try to upsell or push unnecessary work. Overall, great service and a great guy. They will definitely be our go-to plumbing service from now on.

Once again we had some problems under our kitchen sink so we called Plumbing Express who were able to get us on their schedule pretty quickly after these storms Tim Robinson came out to do the job. Tim has been to our house for a number of different plumbing problems. He is personable & professional. As usual he did a great job even though this particular problem turned out to be far more difficult than anyone had expected. As frustrating as it was, Tim worked through it until he finished the job. We can't thank him enough.

Common Questions About Whole-Home Repiping

What Is a Home Repipe?

A home repipe is a long-term solution for failing water pipes, especially for homeowners experiencing recurring leaks. Rather than continuing to repair one leak at a time, a complete repipe replaces the home’s aging water-supply system.

Our standard turnkey repipe begins at the interior shutoff valve. From there, we run new pipe to each plumbing fixture in the home, replacing both the hot- and cold-water supply lines.

What kind of warranty comes with my whole-home repipe?

You’re covered two ways. Plumbing Express stands behind our installation with a 10-year workmanship warranty on the pipe, plus 1 year on fittings, valves, and fixture supply lines. On top of that, the pipe itself is backed by the manufacturer, so you get long-term protection from both the people who installed it and the people who made it. Pex-A and Pex-B pipes have 25 year manufacturers’ warranties and Flowguard Gold CPVC has a 30 year manufacturers’ warranty.

Do you remove all the old water pipes?

In every repipe, you get a completely new network of water supply pipes, fully separated and independent from the old system.

We remove old pipe as needed to run the new system. When it makes sense, we run new pipe through the same holes and path as the old pipe, removing it in the process. This saves time and avoids extra cuts into drywall.

When the new route deviates from the original path, we bypass the old pipe instead. We drain it down and leave it abandoned in place.

What's the difference between the workmanship warranty and the materials warranty?

Think of it as two layers of protection. Our workmanship warranty means if anything about our installation doesn’t hold up, we make it right, that’s on us. The materials warranty comes straight from the manufacturer (PEX-A & PEX-B pipe is backed for 25 years, FlowGuard Gold CPVC for 30 years) and covers the pipe material itself for decades beyond our own warranty term. Between the two, your repipe is protected by real, named warranties, not vague promises.

What if something needs attention down the road?

Just reach out, we’ll schedule an inspection and, if it’s a covered workmanship issue, we’ll make it right at no cost to you for that portion of the work. Warranty visits also come with the diagnostic fee waived, so getting it looked at is easy.

Will You Replace the Outdoor Faucets During the Repipe?

Yes. Our standard turnkey repipe includes replacing the home’s outdoor faucets, also known as hose bibs or spigots. We also install a dedicated isolation valve for each new hose bib, allowing you to shut off water to the outdoor faucet without turning off water to the entire home. This makes the faucet easier to service, replace, or winterize in the future.

How much does a whole-home repipe cost in Metro Atlanta?

Most single-family home repipes in Metro Atlanta cost between $8,500 and $14,000. The final price depends on home size, pipe material, and restoration complexity. Plumbing Express provides fixed-price quotes that cover everything, pipe, drywall, texture, and paint, with no add-ons after the fact.

How long does a repipe take?

Most single-family homes take 2 to 4 days for pipe replacement, plus an additional 1 to 2 days for full drywall and paint restoration. Your water is on each evening throughout the project.

Do I need to leave my house during a repipe?

Not typically. Most homeowners stay in their homes throughout the job. We work systematically through the house and restore water pressure each day before we leave.

Is my home a candidate for repiping?

Any home with polybutylene pipe, aging copper with a recurring leak history, or certain older PEX systems with documented failures is a strong candidate. The best way to know is a quote walkthrough. We assess the system and give you a clear picture of what you’re working with.

What is not covered by the Repipe Warranty?

Like any warranty, ours covers our workmanship and the manufacturer’s materials, not things outside our control, like freezing, corrosion, normal wear and tear, or damage from work done by someone else after we finish. Everyday consumable parts (think washers, aerators) aren’t included either. The full list of terms is in your signed proposal.

What Plumbing Work Is Included in a Repipe?

A Plumbing Express repipe replaces every water supply line in your home, hot and cold. We do not patch or splice failing pipe. We remove it and replace it with new, code-approved material. The plumbing scope on every repipe includes all new supply lines throughout the home, new angle stops and shutoff valves at every fixture, new hose bibs, a new pressure regulator valve, and a new thermal expansion tank.

Is Water Turned Off for the Whole Project?

No. We work in phases and restore water pressure to your home each evening before the crew leaves. Most families remain in their homes throughout the project without significant disruption.

What Pipe Materials Does Plumbing Express Install?

We install PEX-A, PEX-B, and FlowGuard Gold CPVC. Your estimator will explain the differences and help you choose during your free in-home visit.

PEX-A is flexible, freeze-resistant, and highly durable. It is the most popular choice for whole home repiping in Metro Atlanta and carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty.

PEX-B is a slightly more rigid pipe that holds its shape well and installs quickly. It also carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty.

FlowGuard Gold CPVC is a rigid pipe that performs reliably in Metro Atlanta’s climate. It carries a 30-year manufacturer warranty and is a strong choice for homeowners who prefer a more traditional installation style.

Is ceiling texture included in a Plumbing Express repipe?

Yes. After drywall is patched, our crew restores ceiling texture to match your existing finish. Whether your home has orange peel, knockdown, or smooth ceilings, we match what is there. Texture restoration is handled by the same in-house crew that does the pipe work and drywall repair. There is no handoff to a separate contractor and no scheduling gap between trades.

What Does "Turn-Key" Actually Mean?

It means one team handles everything from the first pipe to the final paint. You do not coordinate a plumber, then schedule a drywall sub, then wait on a painter’s availability. Plumbing Express manages the full scope under one fixed-price quote, with one point of accountability.

Is painting included with the drywall repair?

Yes. Our standard turn-key proposal includes sheetrock repair, texture matching, and paint matching at the access openings created during the repipe. Paint is listed separately on the proposal for transparency, and homeowners may remove it when they plan to repaint, change colors, or use their own painter.

Is Drywall Repair Included?

Yes. Drywall repair at every access point is a standard inclusion on every Plumbing Express repipe. It is not an add-on. It is not a separate bid. It is in your fixed-price quote from the start.

Can you sell a house with polybutylene pipes?

Yes, but it comes with tradeoffs. Polybutylene and certain failing PEX systems are flagged on the majority of Metro Atlanta home inspections where they are present, and the report language is clear about replacement. Buyers, lenders, and insurance companies are familiar with both materials, and that familiarity rarely works in the seller’s favor.

In practice, sellers with defective pipe face one of three outcomes: a price reduction, a repair credit negotiation, or a repipe condition before closing. Sellers who repipe before listing remove the issue from the inspection report entirely and avoid the negotiation. For most sellers, that is the cleaner path.

If you are a buyer, seller, or agent dealing with a pipe issue on a closing timeline, see our repipe for home sale page for how we handle estimates, project scheduling, and documentation for real estate transactions.

What is the difference between PEX and CPVC?

Both are proven replacement materials for Metro Atlanta homes. PEX-A & Pex-B are flexible, freeze-resistant, and carry a 25-year manufacturer warranty. FlowGuard Gold CPVC is rigid, code-approved, and carries a 30-year manufacturer warranty. We install both and can walk you through the trade-offs for your specific home during the estimate.
