Proudly serving Atlanta and the surrounding communities

Plumber in Powder Springs, GA

We provide dependable plumbing services in Powder Springs, GA, helping homeowners fix leaks, clogs, and repairs quickly and efficiently.

Powder Springs homeowners call Plumbing Express when pipes fail, drains back up, or water heaters quit. We are a licensed plumber in Powder Springs, GA, and we have served Cobb County families since 2007 with honest pricing and guaranteed work. Our W-2 plumbing technicians handle everything from a single leak repair to a full whole-home repipe with drywall restoration included.

Powder Springs sits in southwest Cobb County along U.S. Route 278 and the Silver Comet Trail corridor. The city was incorporated as Springville in 1838 and renamed for its seven mineral springs in 1859. Today around 18,000 residents live here across neighborhoods like Lost Mountain, Country Walk, Forest Glen, and Hawthorne at Lost Mountain. Most homes in the 30127 ZIP code were built between the early 1980s and mid-1990s. That build window means specific plumbing problems show up again and again in this community.

Polybutylene Pipe Replacement for 1980s and 1990s Homes

Builders across Cobb County installed polybutylene water lines in homes from roughly 1978 through 1995. Powder Springs grew rapidly during that exact period, so a large share of the housing stock along Macland Road, New Macland Road, and the Lost Mountain subdivisions still contains these gray or blue plastic pipes. Chlorine and other oxidants in the Cobb County Water System supply break down polybutylene from the inside. The pipe walls become brittle, and pinhole leaks or full ruptures follow without warning.

If your home was built during this window, look under sinks and near the water heater for gray, blue, or black flexible pipe stamped “PB2110.” Finding that marking means your plumbing system carries a known failure risk. Insurance carriers in Georgia may restrict coverage or raise premiums on homes with polybutylene still in place.

Plumbing Express is a polybutylene replacement specialist. We have repiped thousands of Metro Atlanta homes with modern materials and a turn-key process that includes professional sheetrock repair and computer-matched paint. Most jobs finish in two to three days, and we back all materials with a 30-year warranty. Request a free repipe quote and we will inspect your Powder Springs home at no charge.

Copper Pipe Pinhole Leak Repair in Cobb County

Homes in Powder Springs that avoided polybutylene often received copper supply lines instead. Copper is durable, but Cobb County water chemistry has caused documented pinhole leak problems in aging copper throughout the county. The Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority sources water from the Chattahoochee River and Lake Allatoona, and the treated supply interacts with thin-wall copper over decades.

Signs of copper pipe failure include green staining around joints, damp spots on ceilings or walls, and a slow drop in water pressure. Our leak detection team uses thermal imaging and acoustic tools to find hidden leaks without tearing open walls. When the damage is widespread, a full copper repipe is the most cost-effective long-term solution.

Drain Cleaning and Sewer Line Services

Mature trees in Powder Springs neighborhoods like Lost Mountain Estates, Peach Plantation, and the subdivisions off Brownsville Road send roots into aging clay and cast-iron sewer laterals. Slow floor drains, gurgling toilets, and sewage odors in the yard all point toward a blockage or a cracked sewer pipe underground.

Our drain cleaning crews start with a camera line inspection to see the problem before recommending a fix. Options range from mechanical snaking and hydrojetting to full sewer line repair or replacement. We record the camera footage so you see exactly what is happening inside the pipe.

For emergency backups after hours, our emergency drain service team responds quickly. A blocked sewer main can push wastewater into your home within hours, so fast response matters.

Water Heater Installation, Repair, and Maintenance

A standard tank water heater lasts about 8 to 12 years. Many Powder Springs homes built in the 1980s and 1990s are on their second or third unit, and the hard mineral content in Cobb County water speeds up sediment buildup inside the tank. Rumbling noises, lukewarm output, and rusty hot water are signs the unit is nearing the end of its life.

We install and service both tank water heaters and Rinnai tankless systems. Tankless units deliver hot water on demand, take up less space, and can reduce energy costs over time. Our team handles the installation, gas line work, and venting in a single visit.

Need a water heater repair rather than a full replacement? We service all major brands and keep common parts on hand for same-day fixes. Regular water heater maintenance such as flushing the tank and testing the pressure relief valve extends the unit’s life and keeps your energy bills lower.

General Plumbing Repairs for Every Room

Beyond repiping and drain work, our general plumbing team covers the everyday issues that Powder Springs homeowners face.

Toilet problems. Running toilets, weak flushes, and leaks at the base. We handle toilet repair and toilet installation for all brands.

Faucet drips and leaks. A dripping faucet wastes thousands of gallons a year. We provide faucet repair and faucet installation in kitchens, bathrooms, and utility sinks.

Garbage disposal failures. Jammed or leaking disposals can shut down your kitchen sink. Our garbage disposal repair and installation service gets everything running again.

Clogged toilets. Stubborn clogs that a plunger cannot clear need professional tools. Our clogged toilet repair service resolves the blockage without damaging the fixture.

Sump and ejector pumps. Basements and lower-level bathrooms in Powder Springs split-level homes rely on these systems. We offer sump pump installation, sump pump repair, and ejector pump services.

Water Line and Gas Line Services

Underground water line repairs are common in Powder Springs, where polybutylene service lines run from the meter to the house beneath driveways and front yards. A wet spot in the yard or a sudden spike in your Cobb County water bill usually means the supply line has cracked.

We also handle gas line repair and gas line installation for ranges, dryers, outdoor grills, fire pits, and backup generators. Gas work requires a licensed professional and a proper leak test before turning the line live. Our gas line services cover every step from permit to final inspection.

Ron was our second plumber from this company. The first plumber came, examined pipes and said he found no leak, even though we had experiences a large amount of water leaking from the ceiling in the finished basement. Several days later we had another leak-same area but less water the second time. Ron came in, listened to our frustration and did a more thorough inspection of the pipes and identified the problem. He was very personable and professional. On his third visit, we had several replacement pipes installed and are without leaks again. Our frustration, with the situation, was my son had used your company to replace pipes when he purchased the home and founding out not all the pipes were included with that process.

Called Plumbing Express as tankless hot water not operating. Their website states "Get Free Plumbing Quote ". When service man showed up an looked at unit he said there would be a $207 charge to look into unit in order to give me a quote to fix unit. Due to not having hot water and time required to get another company to address the problem I agreed to pay $207 for quote. After looking in unit I was told he would not be able to fix due to age of unit and parts not available. I think he should have said parts not available when seeing model number on front of unit and I would not have wasted $207.

Plumbing Express is my go-to plumbing support team. They have fair pricing, well-vetted technicians, and a truly exceptional scheduling system. Rod, my technician, was the best. He quickly assessed the problem and gave a fair estimate, working hard to keep to the schedule. He even brought Josh along on the day of service, and the two of them worked well together. They addressed the bathtub drain repair with expertise and caused the least sheetrock damage. It was difficult to replace the broken pipe and get to the upstairs drain, but together they made it a success.

Dylan from Plumbing Express came over and replaced our garbage disposal for us. It was older, had a massive leak, and needed to be replaced. He did a great job and was in and out in about 30 minutes! I also asked him to check out a potential leak I had been hearing in my ceiling. He used a thermal camera to investigate and was very honest and upfront about what he found. Rather than immediately cutting into the drywall to confirm something uncertain, he explained that the sound could simply be pipes expanding and that opening the wall might be unnecessary. He recommended monitoring the area and waiting to see if a wet spot appears, which would clearly indicate an actual leak. I really appreciated that he didn’t try to upsell or push unnecessary work. Overall, great service and a great guy. They will definitely be our go-to plumbing service from now on.

Tim has been to our house for a number of different plumbing problems. He is personable & professional. As frustrating as it was, Tim worked through it until he finished the job. We can't thank him enough.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if a pipe bursts?

Shut off your main water valve right away to stop the flow and limit damage. Then call a licensed plumber for emergency repair. If water has reached electrical outlets, also shut off your electricity.

How do I know if I have a hidden water leak?

Watch for unexplained increases on your water bill, damp spots on drywall, or a water meter that keeps spinning when every fixture is off. Our team uses acoustic listening devices and thermal cameras to find leaks behind walls and under slabs without invasive demolition.

Why is my water pressure low?

Low pressure at a single fixture usually points to a clogged aerator or worn cartridge. If the issue affects the whole house, it could be due to a failing pressure regulator, a partially closed main shutoff valve, or pipe corrosion and buildup. Many older homes in Powder Springs may experience this due to aging plumbing materials. A professional plumber can diagnose and resolve the issue during the same visit.

How often should I service my water heater?

Most manufacturers recommend a flush and inspection once a year. Annual service removes sediment that reduces efficiency and shortens tank life. Tankless units also need descaling, especially in areas where mineral-heavy water is common. Skipping maintenance shortens equipment life and raises monthly energy costs.

How much do plumbing repairs cost?

Costs depend on the job type, the materials needed, and the condition of your existing plumbing. Contact our team directly for an exact quote. Plumbing Express provides clear, upfront pricing before work starts. You will not see a surprise charge on the final invoice.
