A “slab” is the concrete foundation that many houses are built on. It is very common to have plumbing pipes encased in the concrete slab. For various reasons these pipes encased in the concrete slab can develop leaks – these leaks are referred to as “slab leaks.” Slab leaks in pipes typically develop due to a chemical reaction. Gray Poly pipes reacts with chlorine in the water over a long period of time. Copper pipes, when not properly sleeved at the time of installation can react with the soil and concrete to develope leaks. Slab leaks can also occur for other unknown reasons.
We typically recommend a partial or complete repipe to bypass pipes in the slab as opposed to repairing the pipe in the slab. Repairing slab pipes is very invasive and costly and we do not recommend it. Slab repairs involve jackhammering the slab, removing flooring, basboard, etc. Also, it is very common for mulitple slab leaks to exist at the same time or for a slab leak to develope in a different place soon after one repair has been made. The means for locating slab leak can be inaccurate. Pipe replacement is often the most economical route because it actually ads value to the home instead of being a “band aid.” Insurance companies will often apply a portion of what would be a slab repair claim to a complete home pipe replacement.
A typical home has between 15 and 35 sheet rock cuts. A number of factors including the number of plumbing fixtures and design of the house determine the number of holes that are cut. Since part of the Plumbing Express repipe includes sheet rock repair, we do try to minimize the number of cuts.
Unless the customer specifies otherwise, we alway include sheetrock repair, paint match and ceiling texture match in our complete pipe replacement. It’s truly turn-key.
Because we need to be aware of and take into account the unique challenges present in a house, it is better have Plumbing Express give a free on-site inspection and quote. We understand that sometimes potential clients are under a time constraint for various reason so we can give a close idea of the price over the phone.

The vast majority of our clients do stay in the home while it is being re-piped. We are sure to restore water at the end of each day and clean up plastic that has been deployed to control debris. While a pipe replacement is a major project, we minimize our foot print.
Any person with an extreme sensitivity to dust or serious medical conditions should NOT stay in the home during the repipe.
Most of our repipes are substantially complete within 2 to 3 working days. Larger or more complicated homes with more wall and ceiling cuts can take four or five days to complete. The job is broken down into two parts 1) Plumbing 2) Sheet rock Repairs.
We are exceptionally skilled at matching and blending ceiling textures including popcorn ceilings (course, medium, and fine textures) and stipple ceilings. Our work is exceptional and your attention will not be drawn to our access areas.
After our pipe replacement, the water distribution pipes in your slab will no longer be in use. Our process bypasses slab pipes so that your home will no longer be susceptible to a slab leak. If your water service line is also polybutylene penetrating the slab, that pipe can also be bypassed as a separate item in the scope of work.
How is Plumbing Express different from competing service plumbers with respect to repiping services?
Because our plumbers have seen so many different home configurations, they are able to quickly assess an ideal approach to the repipe of your home. We have a proven method that is efficient and reliable. We use a large amount of plastic sheeting and drop clothes to help protect your home and it’s contents from construction debris and dust.
We use premium piping materials and valves. We include drywall repairs and because we do, the plumbers minimize cutting drywall. Our drywall and paint techs are special people who do great work (everyone at Plumbing Express is a W2 employee and not a subcontractor).
Plumbers who occasionally repipe houses are definitely slower, do more damage to the home finishes, do not include sheetrock repair, and often often do a substandard job simply due to lack of experience. Our experience and skill are the reason realtors trust us with their clients – we provide a good value and don’t stall or otherwise affect the home sale.
An interior pipe replacement is a replacement of the home’s potable water distribution system. The potable water distribution system is defined as: Pipes within a structure that convey water from the water service pipe to the points of utilization. Our standard interior repipe includes replacement of all pipes from the interior (main) shutoff valve to all the fixtures.
Our repipe service differs from other plumbing companies because we repair the home finishes such as drywall, paint, ceiling texture by default as specified in our Interior Repipe Agreement.
Yes we do offer free polybutylene inspections. These inspections and quotes are especially useful to clients who are buying or selling a home because the presence of polybutylene affects the value of your home.

Dylan from Plumbing Express came over and replaced our garbage disposal for us. It was older, had a massive leak, and needed to be replaced. He did a great job and was in and out in about 30 minutes! I also asked him to check out a potential leak I had been hearing in my ceiling. He used a thermal camera to investigate and was very honest and upfront about what he found. Rather than immediately cutting into the drywall to confirm something uncertain, he explained that the sound could simply be pipes expanding and that opening the wall might be unnecessary. He recommended monitoring the area and waiting to see if a wet spot appears, which would clearly indicate an actual leak. I really appreciated that he didn’t try to upsell or push unnecessary work. Overall, great service and a great guy. They will definitely be our go-to plumbing service from now on.
Once again we had some problems under our kitchen sink so we called Plumbing Express who were able to get us on their schedule pretty quickly after these storms Tim Robinson came out to do the job. Tim has been to our house for a number of different plumbing problems. He is personable & professional. As usual he did a great job even though this particular problem turned out to be far more difficult than anyone had expected. As frustrating as it was, Tim worked through it until he finished the job. We can't thank him enough.

TOTAL HOME RE-PLUMB. Our neighborhood has had so many homes experiencing water leaks (hundreds) that many of us have chosen to re-plumb before it happens. Based on my own experience speaking with four different plumbing companies, and speaking with several of our neighbors, I decided on Plumbing Express. They are knowledgeable, professional and very responsive to any questions along the way. Their price was fair and it’s one price for the whole job. You won’t have to find someone to repair and paint drywall. They have their own people or contractors to do that so your house looks perfect when they finish. I would highly recommend Plumbing Express to anyone needing to have their house re-plumbed. EDIT: Ed was the initial person I spoke to. His experience, knowledge and easygoing (non-salesman like) demeanor was greatly appreciated. Ivan was my point of contact for any questions and he was friendly and as I said, very responsive. He also installed a Moen smart valve in our home. Dylan plumbed the exterior of our home to the street while another crew did the interior re-plumbing. I’m very pleased with all of them.
Dylan did a great job fixing our Rinnai hybrid water heater. He didn’t try to do the typical “oh it’s over 5 years old you need a new one” that so many companies do. We really appreciated that! He did need to order parts, but they came in quickly and he was very efficient.

I would recommend Plumbing Express to anyone for repiping services. I got initial quotes from 4 different plumbers for replacing PB pipe, and Ed was by far the most knowledgable, informative, and personable that I interacted with. Price was also hard to beat, especially considering the drywall repair was included. The crews that came out to work were on-time and worked quickly. The drywall repair was seamless; as many others have said, it is impossible to know there were ever any holes in the walls. Throughout the entire process, Ivan stayed in contact and communicated proactively and clearly. Any issues or concerns we had were addressed promptly. The only complaint we had was that some of the workers didn’t clean up thoroughly after themselves and left behind debris/trash. One piece left was a metal piece from a pipe that could’ve damaged our lawnmower if it hadn’t been found. In general though, the work spaces were left clean. Overall, we’re very happy with the quality of work done and customer service experience. These guys know what they’re doing.

After finding out that my home of 21 years had a leak in the slab, I discovered that the slab was full of polybutylene and I would need my entire home repiped. I spoke with three different plumbers before discovering Plumbing Express. Ivan came to my home right away and thoroughly explained the process and the cost. He answered all my questions and it was an easy choice to choose this company. The crew (Lucio, Ben, Jose and Rad) arrived on time and got the repiping done in one day. They were pleasant and did a great job. The next two days, Flaniel arrived to do the dry wall and painting. Like the crew the day before, furniture and carpet was covered to protect my home. He was meticulous and did his job like an expert. He went over and above expectations. This company has its act together ! Our plumber (Tim R.) came out quickly (and during the holiday season) and made it clear what needed to be done. Found the source of the leak and then patched it up quickly. Also recommended a Mitigation Service and came back a few days later for an unrelated repair. All in all, top notch service (with a smile, a few jokes and family stories included). Definitely my go to plumbing service!

I was referred by a fellow realtor to Plumbing Express. Dylan was very professional and he provided valuable information prior and after the repair. He explained everything clearly and I felt confident.
We used Plumbing Express to repipe our whole house due to polybutylene pipes that failed under our slab. The experience was five stars all the way through. Ed came and did our free estimate. He explained everything to us without the “sales pitch” pressure we experienced from another company. The onsite plumbing crew (Lucian was the lead inside and Ivan was running the new line from the street) kept us informed throughout the job and did impeccable work. Once the repipe was complete, Roberto came in and completed the drywall repairs. The walls are perfect! Ivan who coordinated from the office was also key in making this go so smooth.
I had a terrible experience with a plumber that would not work on my valve because of it being old. I contacted Plumbing Express for a second opinion and I wish I had done it sooner. They were responsive, professional and my technician Daniel walked me through all the issues and risks. He was patient with my HOA when they could not locate the main shut off valve. The tech was very knowledgeable and gave me the best advice, even though he wasn’t able to complete the request as I need hvac first.
We needed to replace all the copper piping in our 29 year old house. The task was daunting however Plumbing Express did an outstanding job - every step of the way. The quote was far better than their competitors. They moved furniture and plastic covered and isolated the work area. They cut 45 holes in my ceiling and walls to run the pipe. They pressure tested to ensure no leaks. The amazing thing was they completed all the plumbing work in one day. They replaced the drywall perfectly. We can’t tell where the cuts were made. They supported us during the permit inspection and completed the items the inspector identified. Finally they cleaned up each day.
